Prabhu Deva and Lal to team up for a movie to be directed by R S Vimal in Tamil?

Filmmaker R S Vimal has certainly taken Malayalam cinema to places with the Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Ennu Ninte Moideen. The director is also trying his luck in Tamil industry now with the historical drama Suryaputra Mahavir Karnan.

The buzz is that Vimal is gearing up to make another Tamil project, collaborating with the actor-filmmaker-choreographer Prabhu Deva and actor-director Lal. Though further details are not available on it, some reports suggest that the shooting of the project is scheduled to happen in the UK.

Meanwhile, Prabhu Deva will next be seen in the N Ragavan directorial, My Dear Bootham. The fantasy flick has Ramya Nambeesan playing the female lead, while Super Deluxe fame Ashwanth will play another pivotal character in the movie.

Lal was last seen in the successful Malayalam comedy drama Jan E Man, helmed by debutant Chidambaram. He was also seen in the Tovino Thomas-starrer Kala, which also went on to become a notable film. On his upcoming list, he has movies like Bheeshma Parvam and Pathonpatham Noottandu, starring Mammootty and Siju Wilson respectively. Lal will also essay a vital role in the upcoming epic historical fiction Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam.

The biographical romantic drama Ennu Ninte Moideen had received critical acclaim and went on to become one of the highest grossers in Mollywood when it was released more than six years ago. Parvathy Thiruvothu played the female lead in the movie which marked Vimal’s directorial debut.

Meanwhile, his mythological project Suryaputra Mahavir Karnan, which is Vimal’s next, is being planned as a large-scale bilingual movie. Cinematographer K K Senthil Kumar, who is best known for his works in Magadheera, Eega and RRR, has been brought on board for the project.
