Prabhas, best known for his larger-than-life portrayal of Baahubali, was recently seen in Radhe Shyam, playing the romantic role of a palmist. From delivering Telugu hits to achieving tremendous recognition with SS Rajamouli's two magnum opuses in the Baahubali trilogy and pan-India films like Saaho and Radhe Shyam, the actor has gone a long way. Prabhas said he is still striving to improve his Hindi to boost his popularity across the country to new heights.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Prabhas discussed Radhe Shyam and all the factors that could have contributed to the film's failure to connect with audiences.
When asked how it feels to be a larger-than-life figure rather than just an actor, Prabhas revealed that Rajamouli offered him the Baahubali image that was larger than life. Some folks are solely interested in seeing him in that role.
In Radhe Shyam, the actor plays the role of a palmist. So, does Prabhas believe in astrology and fate? To which the Darling actor shared that he believes in destiny but not in astrology or palmistry in general. Prabhas has heard some fascinating tales, but he has never shown anyone his palm. The actor understands that it is a part of our culture and that individuals from all over the world have learned it, but he does not practice it.
On being quizzed on whether the strain of delivering something as enormous as Baahubali influences his new projects, Prabhas stated that there is pressure on his filmmakers and producers to achieve the same level of success as Baahubali. He's not under any pressure to outshine Baahubali or make the biggest movie. Prabhas feels extremely fortunate to have Baahubali, but he would like to have the pleasure of entertaining as many people as possible across the country. The actor just wants the audience to be entertained without him or Baahubali.
Radhe Shyam, Prabhas' latest release, became a debacle. While talking about what caused the film to fall short of expectations, the actor shared that maybe it was COVID-19 or maybe they misread the script. He further shared that people may not want to watch him in that zone, even if they do, because they anticipate him to be too wonderful.
For the first 11–12 years of Prabhas's career, he appeared in various Telugu films. Baahubali, on the other hand, reached out to the Hindi-speaking audience. Saaho and Radhe Shyam were also released in Hindi. So, when asked if he can communicate in Hindi now, the actor said he needs to improve. From Saaho to Radhe Shyam, he has improved, but he still has a long way to go. The crowd, the press, and the people he knows make him feel very at ease, but he still has a long way to go.
