They were in for a treat today as the makers not only shared a new poster but also announced the release date of the movie. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD will hit the big screen on May 9, 2024. Kalki 2898 AD fever grips Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat

A while ago, photos of three masked men promoting Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD with the film's official poster surfaced on X. They were standing right outside Shah Rukh Khan's mansion Mannat, which is in Bandra, Mumbai. This amusing crossover left people surprised on social media.

Kalki 2898 AD to hit the big screen on May 9, 2024

Earlier today, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD confirmed May 9 as the release date of the movie. The movie has been helmed by celebrated filmmaker Nag Ashwin. Apart from Prabhas, this cinematic spectacle stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, and Kamal Haasan in key roles. The movie has been bankrolled by Vvjayanthi Movies and Santhosh Narayanan has worked on the film's music.

This movie, which is said to be set in the future, is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 600 crore, making it the most expensive Pan India film. Kalki 2898 AD has been simultaneously shot in Hindi and Telugu.

Prabhas' box office clash with Shah Rukh Khan

Last month, Prabhas and Shah Rukh Khan locked horns at the box office with their respective films, Salaar and Dunki. While SRK's Dunki was released on December 21 (2023), the Prabhas starrer hit the silver screen on December 22, 2023. Although Rajkumar Hirani's directorial fared well at the ticket window, the Prashanth Neel film easily raced past Dunki in terms of box office figures.
