Only days ago, KRG Studios, which has taken on the responsibility of distributing Prabhas’ Adipurush in Karnataka, was under fire for the lack of screens/shows allocated to the Kannada dubbed version of the film. Karthik Gowda, one of the co-founders of KRG Studios, though, kept assuring netizens that his banner would do the needful and he lived up to his word, allocating 146 screens in Karnataka to the Kannada version, as against 192 for Telugu, 98 for Hindi, 18 for Tamil and 3 for Malayalam. And this was at a time when the bookings for the Kannada version did not look encouraging enough. In fact, KRG Studios ensured that the Kannada dubbed version had great voice talents on board, like, for instance, Santhosh Shinde, P Ravi Shankar, among others.
Although it initially seemed that Karthik’s efforts would go in vain, through the course of the day on June 16, the response to the Kannada version of Adipurush kept getting better. While it was, of course, no match for the Telugu version, which accounted for more than 600 of its 900+ shows in the state, the Kannada-dubbed version has, according to trade experts, collected Rs 47 lakh gross on day 1 and day 2 is likely to be much more. The Karnataka gross across all languages was said to be Rs 6.5 crore, with some claiming that it had got to Rs 8 crore.

Things are looking bright for the Om Raut directorial even on day 2, despite the overwhelmingly mixed reports that are skewed towards negative feedback. In Karnataka, the film got 62 early morning shows (until 8 am) on day 2, which is said to be an all-time record for any language film. The booking trend is also looking good, with Day 2 exceeding day 1, even though the total number of shows has fallen from 967 to 904.
