Ashok Selvan starred in the 2023 critically acclaimed Tamil film Por Thozhil. After the success of the film, director Vignesh Raja is all set to collaborate with Ashok Selvan again for a new film. Although speculations suggest that this collaboration will be a sequel to the crime drama Por Thozhil, other reports suggest that it is a new subject. 

Is Vignesh Raja’s next with Ashok Selvan a crime thriller?

Vignesh and Ashok's Por Thozhil, a crime thriller, was loved by audiences and critics who lauded the director for a fresh story. Ashok's won many hearts playing a rookie cop. Although the director had hinted at doing a crime thriller film that focuses on Ashok's character in Por Thozhil, it is yet to be confirmed whether the upcoming film will be based on this or if it is a completely new subject. However, fans are hoping to see the young director make a film in a different genre and would like to see what he will experiment with this time.

Vignesh Raja speaks about his next film

In an interview, Vignesh revealed that he feels more responsible about his next project due to the audience's high expectations after the success of Por Thozhil. “I feel there’s more responsibility on me now. As the years pass, the stories get exhausted because people tell them before you can,” the director said.

Ashok Selvan's other projects

Saba Nayagan star Ashok Selvan will be seen next in Kanda Naal Mudhal director V Priya’s film titled Pon Ondru Kanden. Besides Ashok, the film also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi and Vasath Ravi (of Jailer) in lead roles.

Ashok Selvan was last seen in the sports-political film Blue Star, which is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
