Por Thozhil: First look of Sarath Kumar, Ashok Selvan's thriller flick out, release date announced

We had reported a month ago that debutant Vignesh Raja is making a project with Sarath Kumar and Ashok Selvan in lead roles. Billed as a thriller, it is produced by Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, Mukesh R Mehta, CV Sarathi, Poonam Mehra and Sandeep Mehra.

The team has now unveiled its first look poster through Twitter handles of Venkat Prabhu, Gautham Menon and Vijay Sethupathi. Sarath is seen wielding a gun in his right hand while Ashok holds a book titled Tamil Nadu Police Hand Book in his hand. The former looks smart and suave while the latter appears naïve and new to the police department.

The props used in the poster suggest that the duo is posing for a photo inside a police station. Alfred Prakash has penned the screenplay along with director Vignesh for the film which brings Sarath and Ashok together for the first time.

Kalaiselvan Sivaji has cranked the camera for Por Thozhil which has editing by Sreejith Sarang. Jakes Bejoy has composed music for the movie which has Phoenix Babu choreographing action sequences. B Sakthivelan of Sakthi Film Factory has bagged the film's theatrical rights in Tamil Nadu.

Por Thozhil is Sarath Kumar's sixth film in 2023 after Varisu, Rudhran, Christopher, Ponniyin Selvan 2 and Custody. It marks Ashok's first outing this year. He had half-a-dozen releases last year, the highest for any Tamil actor in 2022.

He has expressed excitement on its release through his Twitter page. The tweet read, " A neat suspense thriller on your way.. I’m really excited about this (sic)." The movie is hitting screens on June 9.
