It's been a while since we witnessed Bejoy Nambiar’s complicated action drama in theatres, and the wait is finally coming to an end. The eagerly-awaited trailer of Bejoy’s bilingual action flick Por (Tamil) was unveiled by actor Arya and it is a whistle-worthy campus action drama. The traiel was shared with the tagline “Battle lines are drawn and the stakes are higher than ever! Brace yourself #Dange is about to take over! Pick a side!”
The trailer begins with Arjun Das and Kalidas Jayaram’s introduction sequence, where Kalidas is seen as a quarrelsome student who beats up students who mess with him. On the other hand, Arjun Das is seen as someone who has just gotten a job at a pharma company. All seems to be going well until Arjun Das’ friendship with Kalidas Jayaram’s girlfriend (played by Sanchana Natarajan) irks him. Conflict arises from this point on as both the young men challenge each other to a brawl. And that seems to form the rest of the story.
Looking at the trailer, Por seems to be a typical Bejoy Nambiar film. From unique camera angles to the use of southern classical music fusion in the background score, the film hints at being a pulsating actioner that aims at being a stylised college campus drama between two level-headed students. Overall, the film is sure to be an engaging action flick and might have a twist in the tale as seen in other films from the director.

Por also stars TJ Bhanu and Sanchana Natarajan as female leads. The Hindi version of the film is titled Dange and stars Harshavardhan Rane and Ehan Bhatt in lead roles.
Bejoy Nambiar, who has revealed that he is influenced by Mani Ratnam’s filmmaking style, is known for mixing hip-hop with Indian music in his films. He delves deeper into his characters, and as audiences become engrossed in the protagonist, he shifts the focus to the enhanced plot. Looking at the Por trailer, one can see similarities between the film and Taish and Solo (Bejoy's previous films), which have a neo-noir style of narration told in a stylized format.
Por/Dange is slated to be released in theatres on March 1.
