Poonam Pandey faking her death leaves netizens furious, Prakriti Kakar calls it cheap publicity stunt

Many were left mourning Poonam Pandey’s demise on February 2. On February 3, the actress, who left everybody worried, announced that she faked her death. This was done in order to create awareness on cervical cancer. The publicity stunt did not sit down well with everybody who was grieving the actress’ death. One such celebrity to leave a comment, with the netizens, was Prakriti Kakar. She called it cheap and asked them to grow up.

Prakriti’s comment

Bollywood singer Prakriti Kakar left the comment, “Stop spreading “awareness” on the name of cheap publicity stunts. People need to grow the fck up. Social media is so toxic. (sic)”

The comment that caught people’s attention

One comment, especially, caught people’s attention. It was where the user shared how the stunt is not only a disrespect to Poonam’s fans (adding if she has any) but also the cause. This user, like many, believed that the actress’ approach should have been direct and transparent.

The wolf story?

The incident reminds one (and netizens) of the story of the fox. It is where a young boy would lie about there being a fox in the neighbourhood, until the day the fox actually came and killed the boy. This happened because nobody believed the boy. Something similar was in this case, where people might not believe the news of Poonam’s demise the next time it actually happens.

Poonam’s Lock Upp co-stars, other celebs seen grieving on February 2

On the day she was pronounced dead, Poonam’s Lock Upp co-stars, including Munawar Faruqui, were seen grieving. Not only did they share tweets but also gave interviews and expressed genuine concern on learning the news. Pooja Bhatt, who did not even know Poonam, was left upset that a young soul parted to the otherworld. Poonam’s own bodyguard of 11 years was left worried and unanswered, even when he tried to reach out to the actress’ sister.

Poonam’s family, team acted suspicious

It is to be noted that after Poonam’s manager shared the statement on Instagram and her PR confirmed getting a call from Poonam’s sister, Poonam’s sister and other family members were unreachable. Similar was the case with members of Poonam’s PR team. They did not share any details about the actress’ last rites either, which raised suspicion on whether Poonam was alive or dead.
