Pooja Hegde: Glad that people have acknowledged me as a performer with Most Eligible Bachelor

Pooja Hegde, who made her Telugu debut with Oka Laila Kosam opposite Naga Chaitanya, has come a long way in the industry and is part of nearly every high-profile project announced in multiple languages these days. Her recent release, Most Eligible Bachelor, was her fifth consecutive success in Telugu after films like Aravinda Sametha, Maharshi, Gaddalakonda Ganesh and Alaa Vaikunthapurramulo. A success meet for the film was held in Hyderabad on Monday, in which she stated that her character Vibha is one of the best-written roles in her career.

"I'm really happy to be a part of another successful film. It truly feels amazing, but a good film is always a product of good team effort. The success belongs to every actor and crew member part of Most Eligible Bachelor. Many have addressed me as a glamourous star always, but after this film, they have called me a performing star. I just loved to hear that! I need to thank Baskar (sir) for writing a character like Vibha. It's not often Telugu directors write such beautiful roles for women. That's how we also get the opportunity to progress as an actor," she added.

Expressing happiness that crowds have acknowledged her as a true performer finally, Pooja stated, "Every time people called me to say their view about my film, they only said I looked beautiful in the past. It's good to hear comments that I have performed well and also looked beautiful. Generally, it's the other way round. I'm thankful to those who say I look beautiful, but that's because of my genes. I'm happy my character resonated with audiences. We, actors, put in a lot of effort behind our performances, though can never predict how will audiences react to them. The producers, Bunny Vaas and Vasu Varma are an integral part of the film's success. 

She had high words of praise for her co-star Akhil Akkineni as well. "I'm happier for Akhil than myself about the film's success. I hope he has a glorious career ahead. A lot of people have complimented us about our on-screen chemistry. It was all possible because of the comfort level I had with him. I hope we work more together," she signed off. Actor Allu Arjun was part of the success celebrations as well. Pooja Hegde will next be seen opposite Prabhas for the Sankranti release Radhe Shyam.
