Pooja Bhatt’s big reveal inside the Bigg Boss House: Aashiqui is based on my parents love story

Actress and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt has been making headlines since her arrival of Bigg Boss OTT 2, which is hosted by Salman Khan. In the most recent episode, Pooja spoke about her parents, Mahesh Bhatt and Lorraine Bright’s love story. Lorraine changed her name to Kiran Bhatt after marrying Mahesh Bhatt. Mahesh Bhatt married Soni Razdan in 1986, with whom he has two children: Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt. But before this, the filmmaker was married to Kiran and had two children with her as well: Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt.

Pooja spoke about how her parents fell in love and eventually got married while speaking with fellow Bigg Boss contestant Bebika Dhurve inside the BB house. Pooja revealed that her mother’s school was close to her father’s house in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park. She also said that Aashiqui is based on her parents’ love story. “My mother was in the boarding school and my father used to live in the building opposite her school. He had gone to the school once to attend the sports day and saw my mother from a distance. My mother was an athlete, and it was love at first sight. The same evening, my father jumped over the school wall to find my mother, and he got caught. He didn’t even know my mother then. The principal called my (maternal) grandmother and told her what had happened. My grandmother then told my father, ‘If you are so big that you can climb over a wall to meet my daughter, then you take her responsibility.’ My father agreed even at a young age. My mother was in the last year of school. Since then, he has taken the responsibility for my mother and has never left her alone,” Pooja revealed.

Speaking further about her parents’ divorce and Mahesh’s relationship with Soni Razdan, Pooja said that her parents separated a long time ago and each have their own second families. “The nature of the relationship might change, but when you take responsibility for someone, you do it for life. There are very few people in this world, and especially few men, who don’t make a woman feel like they are taking responsibility of a woman. My mother has fights with me and my brother, but my father has been her rock,” she said.

Pooja had spoken about her relationship with Soni in an interview with India Today. She had revealed that Soni had once told Pooja that she feels guilty, to which Pooja had asked, "Soni, why do you feel guilty? You never broke up any marriage. That marriage was long dead.”

Pooja is one of the five finalists of the OTT reality show; host Salman Khan will announce the name of the winner in the show’s grand finale tonight. The other Bigg Boss OTT 2 finalists are Elvish Yadav, Abhishek Malhan, Bebika Dhurve, and Manisha Rani.
