Among all the actors who appeared in the teaser of Ponniyin Selvan, movie lovers unanimously agree that it is Vikram who stole the show. Fans of Ponniyin Selvan novel have high hopes for the versatile actor as they are aware of the caliber with which he can pull off a character like Aditya Karikalan.

There are many who are more interested in the characters Vanthiyathevan (played by Karthi) and Arul Mozhi Varman (played by Jayam Ravi) as well. Going by the Twitter comments, it looks like most of the film lovers and fans of Mani Ratnam are looking forward to the performances of these three actors/characters.

However, it wouldn't be a surprise if Aishwarya Rai and Trisha surpass other male leads and veteran actors in the film, thanks to the complexities involved in their characters. The former plays Nandini, one of the most intriguing characters in the novel, who decides the course of the story during many instances.

Kundavai is regarded as an intelligent woman who is hell-bent on protecting the mighty Chola dynasty while Nandini, a sly woman, is someone who is keen on taking revenge against the Cholas.
