The actor revealed that it takes a special person to stand by a film as his own

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, who recently watched Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan at an IMAX movie theatre in Chennai, was all praise for the film. While revealing that he, along with many others, wanted to be part of the film adaptation of the novel, also waxed eloquent about the film and showered praise on the actors, later during a media interaction. The actor was accompanied by Chiyaan Vikram who played Aditha Karikalan in the film and Karthi, who essayed the role of Vanthiyathevan.
Chiyaan Vikram seems to have had a complete fanboy moment in front of his matinee idol Kamal Haasan. The actor revealed that it takes a special kind of person to come forward and stand by a film as his own. Taking to his social media handle, Vikram, wrote, "His magnificent voice introduced #PonniyinSelvan.Whn d same voice speaks with such love 4 d film,it’s a total fanboy moment 4 me. It takes a special kind of person to come forward all heart and stand by a film as his own. @ikamalhaasanSir. @Karthi_Offl What a night! (sic)."
Vikram had always stated that he looked up to certain actors as inspiration and that Kamal Haasan was one among them. Even in the pictures shared by the actor, Vikram is seen in complete awe of the actor. It was only recently that a number of celebrities including Superstar Rajinikanth, director Shankar and actors like Sivakarthikeyan had heaped praise on the film.
Ponniyin Selvan, which is an adaptation of the epic novel of the same name, had an ensemble cast including Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Shobita Dhulipala, Lal, Prakash Raj, Rahman. The film has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in Tamil cinema and has received a massive opening worldwide. Ponniyin Selvan is jointly bankrolled by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
