Ponniyin Selvan: Karthi wraps up his portions for the upcoming magnus opus

Karthi took to social media to put up a witty message of wrapping up his work for the upcoming mammoth project, Ponniyin Selvan. He is paired with Trisha in the movie and his character is a close confidante of Jayam Ravi’s in the period drama.

In his tweet, Karthi tagged his on-screen co-stars Trisha and Jayam Ravi and put up a witty message that roughly translates the orders given by Trisha’s and Jayam Ravi’s character that has been successfully executed. Earlier, Jayam Ravi also put up a similar witty tweet, which sounded like something that his character would only say.

Karthi also earlier mentioned playing a mammoth character in a star-studded cast for the first time and this has jacked up the excitement of the fans.

Talking about the characters played by the aforementioned stars, Jayam Ravi plays the role of Prince Arulmozhi Varman, also called Ponniyin Selvan. Karthi plays his close confidante, Vandhiyathevan, while Trisha portrays the role of Princess Kundavai, Karthi’s on-screen partner.

Ponniyin Selvan is the adaptation of Kalki’s epic historical novel of the same name. Directed by the ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam, the movie is bankrolled by his production house Madras Talkies, in association with Lyca Productions. The movie features a star-studded cast consisting of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sarathkumar, Jayaram, Parthiban and the Telugu star Mohan Babu.
