Ponniyin Selvan 2 has grossed 200 crores from across the world and makers have announced it officially yesterday. All eyes are now on the movie's long run. The million dollar question is whether it would be able to surpass Ponniyin Selvan 1 which was released last year.

Though PS 2 has opened to positive reviews from several quarters especially with regard to its making, there are those who feel that Mani Ratnam shouldn't have tweaked a few crucial sequences in the epic novel. The collection in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and overseas markets has been encouraging while other territories aren't showing signs of improvement.

A few Kollywood celebs went gaga over the film after its release on their respective social media pages. They were all praises for the actors' performances and its making. None other than Kamal Haasan has watched the movie now along with Mani Ratnam and Devi Sri Prasad.

The Ulaganayagan was one of the few from Kollywood who went gaga over PS 1 last year. He was all praise for the magnum opus and appeared before the press along with Vikram and Karthi then. He had also spoken about the controversial Hindu identity of Raja Raja Chola as well.

Movie buffs are curious to know what the Vikram star is going to talk about the second part of the franchise. He will be joining hands again with Mani soon. Their untitled project, which brings the legends after nearly four decades, is one of the most awaited films in Kollywood. The movie is likely to go on floors this year.

Meanwhile, DSP, who expressed excitement on having watched PS2 along with the two legends, went gaga over Rahman's music and Ravi Varman's cinematography.
