Ponniyin Selvan 2: Fans shout 'Leo' as Trisha speaks at Ponniyin Selvan anthem launch, video goes viral

With just a few more days to go for the release of Ponniyin Selvan 2, the team has begun its promotions, in the name of Chola Tour. The Ponniyin Selvan kickstarted the same at Anna University, Chennai yesterday with the film's anthem launch. Even as a selfie from the event featuring AR Rahman, Trisha, Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Jayaram takes the internet by storm, yet another video that's doing the rounds is that of fans asking for Leo update from Trisha.

As Trisha arrives on stage and begins talking, fans immediately shout in unison, "Leo Leo Leo". Trisha, who smiles at the fans, replies, "Athu apparama pesalaam,"  which roughly translates to "We will talk about it later." But fans continue to shout Leo. It's after the mike is passed to Karthi that the fans finally calm down. The Chola Tour will cover Coimbatore, Chennai, Delhi, Cochin, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Trichy.

The magnum opus is helmed by Mani Ratnam, and is an adaptation of author Kalki's novel of the same name. Even as the film gears up for release, an English translation of the novel, by Nandini Krishnan, is all set to release. The first part of the book is titled First Flood. Ponniyin Selvan 2 is all set to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.

The film will not only be released in IMAX format, but also in the 4DX format, the first south Indian to release in the same. The film's runtime is said to be 2 hours 50 minutes, which is almost the same as the first instalment.

Ponniyin Selvan 2 will Vikram, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi and Jayam Ravi reprising their characters from the first instalment. The supporting cast includes Sobhita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Ashwin Kakumanu, Lal, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu to name a few.
