Pichaikkaran 2: Vijay Antony comes up with a surprise announcement, set to reveal THIS from the film

It's been more than a year since Vijay Antony has had a release. The musician-turned-actor, who was last seen in Kodiyil Oruvan, has half-a-dozen movies awaiting release. One among them, Tamizharasan, which announced its release multiple times, got postponed owing to reasons best known to makers. 

He was in the news recently after he met with a severe accident while shooting for Pichaikkaran 2 in Malaysia. He took to social media a few days ago amid rumours on his health to clarify about his condition. Vijay clarified that he underwent major surgery and that he will begin post-production works for the movie which marks his directorial debut.

The film, which will be released in Tamil and Telugu, has been slated for a summer release, though an exact release date is likely to be announced soon. Vijay has now taken to social media to surprise his fans with an unexpected update.

The first four minutes from the movie will be officially released tomorrow at 5 pm, and this will be the film's official trailer. Vijay has pulled off similar experiments with his outings Saithaan and Kaali as well a few years ago.

Movie buffs hope that this strategy is likely to elevate the hype surrounding Pichaikkaran 2 which is releasing as Bichagadu 2 in Telugu. He also revealed that Disney+ Hotstar and Vijay TV have acquired the movie's digital and satellite rights respectively.

Priya Krishnaswamy of Baaram fame was supposed to direct the film, but Vijay replaced her for reasons best known to them. The movie's cast and crew details are expected to be revealed along with the trailer tomorrow.
