Katrina Kaif’s Phone Bhoot is expected to have a low Box Office opening. The horror-comedy did not have many screens to begin with. Apart from that, horror-comedy hasn’t always connected with the audiences in India, especially after Stree.
Phone Bhoot also has the vibe of a spoof. People have assumed it is India’s version of Ghostubusters and there are anyway lower takers for that. Thus, the movie might have a poor opening and will work only with good word-of-mouth.
The Katrina-Ishaan Khattar-Siddhant Chaturvedi starring film is expected to earn merely Rs. 3.1 crores on day one, reports Ormax Media. This is a number that has become a norm post-COVID but is still not even close to what successful films have earned.

According to reports, not many people booked the film in advance. Apart from that, Box Office India reports that the morning shows only saw 5-10% occupancy, which does not look good for this movie.
Phone Bhoot needs to grow exponentially on Saturday and Sunday in order to be able to sustain at the Box Office. If not, then this movie might face a fate like Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan.
While Phone Bhoot doesn’t exactly have competition in either Mili or Double XL, the movie has little to no scope of seeing a Box Office growth. Fortunately though, it won’t see a lot of competition till Drishyam 2 releases on November 18. However, Phone Bhoot needs to survive at the Box Office that long.
