Phoenix out on OTT - When and where to watch Aju Varghese and Chandhunadh’s horror thriller

Malayalam film Phoenix has started streaming on digital space from December 21. Debutant Vishnu Bharathan has directed this horror thriller film, which is now available on Amazon Prime. Aju Varghese, Chandhunadh, Anoop Menon, Nilja K Baby, Bhagath Manuel, Abhirami Bose, Asha Aravind and Aji John are playing the lead roles in this film.

Midhun Manuel Thomas has penned the film, which was released in theatres on November 17. The movie has been produced by Rinish K N under the banner of Front Row Productions.

Phoenix's intriguing storyline, jump scares, and appealing performances had captured the attention of viewers. The audience had also praised debutante Abhirami Bose's portrayal of Anna Rose and Chandhunadh as Freddy. The actress, who has performed in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi and the Marathi film Ratricha Paus, made her Malayalam debut with this film.

Netizens also praised Sam C S's compositions for Phoenix, especially the song titled Ennile Punchiri, sung by K S Chithra and Kapil Kapilan. The song eloquently conveys the tenderness of Freddy and Anna Rose's developing romance.

John, played by Aju Varghese, and his family move to a remote island village in the hopes of starting over, but a terrifying sequence of events unfolds. The people in the house begin seeing and hearing eerie things, as well as getting letters for a person named Freddy. The film eventually unravels how these incidents affect John and his family and tells a haunting yet heartwarming love story set in the 1970s.

Midhun Manuel Thomas had also written for Arun Varma’s film Garudan recently. His upcoming film, Abraham Ozler, is among the highly anticipated Malayalam films of 2024. The movie will also see Jayaram in a never-seen-before cop character.

Aju Varghese was recently seen in theatrical releases; Nadhikalil Sundari Yamuna and A Ranjith Cinema; and Chandhunadh played a prominent role in Lovefully Yours Veda, which is streaming on HR OTT. Anoop Menon played the lead role in Oh.. Cinderella, which was released on November 3. The actor will also be seen in Midhun’s Abraham Ozler.
