Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba - Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey tease a new chapter packed with love and deception, also starring Sunny Kaushal

After the success of Haseen Dillruba, the story now continues with the sequel titled Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba. The film has been making headlines about the sequel for a long time and today, Netflix finally made an official announcement of the film by sharing a video revealing the first looks of its leading cast which included Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey and Sunny Kaushal, who is a new addition to the cast .

Rani (Taapsee Pannu) is now living in Agra as a paying guest and Rishu (Vikrant Massey) goes under the alias Ravi Varma. The city is busy facing its struggles with a damaged barrage, heavy floods, and the unexpected arrival of crocodiles in the Yamuna river. Now Rishu and Rani are trying their best to stay out of the spotlight and plot their escape for their happily ever after. 

Taking to their social media account, Netflix shared the announcement video and wrote: "Rishu aur Rani ki kahaani me pyaar aur pagalpan, dono abhi baaki hain. Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is coming soon, only on Netflix! 🔍"

Directed by Jayprad Desai, the film was announced a year back in January 2023. The film also stars Jimmy Sheirgill in a pivotal role. Announcing the film, the producer of the film, Aanand L Rai shared a poster that featured Taapsee Pannu and wrote: "O hamari haseen dillruba Aaj shooting shuru ho gai hai “phir aayi hasseen dillruba” kia @taapsee tujhe bola tha na 9 baje poster dalne ke liye..dala kyun nahi abhi tak ? #PhirAayiHasseenDillruba".

Esrlier, speaking about leading a franchise Taapsee Pannu told Pinkvilla, "Very rarely do actresses get to hold an IP (Intellectual property) in terms of a franchise. I feel the only other actress in my head who I know holds a franchise in her name is Rani Mukerji for Mardaani. So, to be someone who can also hold a franchise is such a huge milestone in my head."
