Petta Rap - Prabhu Deva-starrer wraps up shoot; here’s the latest update on the musical actioner

Prabhu Deva’s most exciting release of 2024 Petta Rap has officially completed its entire shooting. The leading man took to his social media pages to pen a thank you note for the cast and crew, and announced that the team has wrapped up the film’s shoot.  

The actor also shared a lovely photograph of himself with the entire team. “Petta Rap All Done And Wrapped! Happy moments and a wonderful experience! Brother and good friend SJ Sinu, he's one talented director. It was real nice working with him, D Imman's music is absolutely Bea(u)tiful. Thanks to producer Jobi P Sam, Great Cinematographer Jithu Damodhar, Such a Nice Actress Vedhika and the whole Cast & Crew, what a team we made! (sic).” The release date of the film is yet to be announced. 

According to the latest reports, it is also speculated that actress Sunny Leone will be starring in a dance number in one of the music tracks in the film. However, an official confirmation on the same is awaited.  

Petta Rap - All you need to know

Malayalam director S J Sinu, who is known for his previous works such as Theru (2023) and Djibouti (2021), will be making his Tamil directorial debut with this Prabhu Deva-starrer. Kannada actress Vedhika is all set to star opposite the dance icon in this film which is billed as a musical actioner. The film’s screenplay has been penned by Dinil PK and the movie’s title is clearly inspired from Prabhu Deva’s superhit single ‘Petta Rap’ from director Shankar’s romantic film Kadhalan.    

Earlier on Valentine’s Day, the makers unveiled the first-look poster of Prabhu Deva and Vedhika. The neon-themed poster features the lead actors in a dance pose, wearing vibrant outfits. The fun poster caught the attention of fans who were thrilled to witness their dance icon in an interesting actioner!

Prabhu Deva in Vijay’s squad for The GOAT

Apart from Petta Rap, Prabhu Deva will be seen sharing screen space with Thapalapthy Vijay in his most anticipated sci-fi actioner The Greatest of All Time. The film, directed by Venkat Prabhu, will have Prabhu Deva as a team member in ‘Vijay’s squad’ which also includes Prashanth and actor Ajmal Ameer, playing the roles of Vijay’s close associates.
