With Sai Dharam Tej’s mystical thriller fast approaching its release date, the actor has moved onto another high-profile project where he’ll be seen alongside his uncle and star, politician Pawan Kalyan. The much-anticipated collaboration is for the Telugu remake of Vinodhaya Sitham, the critically acclaimed Tamil film directed by Samuthirakani. The drama that also starred Samuthirakani and Thambi Ramaiah released directly on ZEE5 in 2020.
Four major banners are bankrolling the Telugu version of Vinodhaya Sitham. People Media Factory, the makers behind hits like Dhamaka, Karthikeya 2 in 2022, is teaming up with ZEE Studios, Pawan Kalyan’s home banner (Pawan Kalyan Creative Works), Fortune Four Cinemas (Trivikram’s banner) for the untitled film which went on floors minus any hype or hoopla on Wednesday.
The production house, confirming the news, shared the images of its lead stars, director and cast and crew this morning. Filmmaker Trivikram has made key changes to the screenplay. Thambi Ramaiah’s part has undergone a complete makeover in the film, with makers tweaking the backdrop and the conflicts of the character to suit Sai Dharam Tej’s sensibilities. Pawan Kalyan is reprising the part that Samuthirakani had essayed in the original.
S Thaman, who teamed up with Pawan Kalyan for Bheemla Nayak and is on board for the star’s actioner with Sujeeth, will be composing the music for this film as well. Sujith Vaassudev is the cinematographer for the project whose crew also comprises award-winning editor Navin Nooli and experienced production designer AS Prakash. The makers haven’t confirmed if the film will have a female lead yet.
Pawan Kalyan’s other major magnum opus, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, directed by Krish, is nearing completion and he’ll also commence filming for Sujeeth’s untitled film and Harish Shankar’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh shortly. The star, who plays a God in Vinodhya Sitham’s remake, also essayed a similar role in Gopala Gopala, the Telugu remake of Paresh Rawal’s Oh My God.
