The makers of the upcoming movie OG on Monday released a new poster on the occasion of Ayudha Pooja. The new poster features Pawan Kalayan's intense look. He gives a death stare suggesting an impending explosion of violence. "His eyes are more powerful than any weapon," captioned the producers, while sharing the poster.
OG is also known as also known as They Call Him OG is written and directed by Sujeeth, who is known for his stylistic and sleek action entertainers.
What to expect from OG?
Earlier, the producers unveiled a teaser for OG giving the fans an idea about what to expect from Pawan's upcoming movie. Judging from the teaser, it seems OG is a dark and gritty crime drama set against the backdrop of Mumbai.
It is safe to assume that this film will delve into the intricacies of the Mumbai underworld and paint a compelling portrait of a man, they call OG, which is short for the 'original gangster.'
The teaser introduces Pawan's character with a slaughter that took place on the streets of Mumbai about 17 years ago. That incident has almost attended the legendary status in the Mumbai underworld. "No storm can wash away the blood strains of men he (the OG) slaughtered," tells a voice, while introducing to the protagonist. And he seems to be returning to Mumbai after a long time, news which is expected to send shivers down the spines of other gangsters.
Pawan seems to play the role of a man with a huge appetite for violence and bloodshed in the movie. He's a katana-wielding gangster, who seems to be the king of the shadow government.
The highlight of the teaser was Pawan's character storming a police station and stabbing a rival in front of high-ranking police officers.
OG is bankrolled by producer D. V. V. Danayya of DVV Entertainment, who also produced Oscar-winning RRR. The movie also stars Emraan Hashmi and Priyanka Arul Mohan in lead roles.
