Pawan Kalyan: It was Trivikram who insisted on Sai Dharam Tej’s presence in Bro

Sai Dharam Tej is the rare actor from this generation who gets a chance to act with his uncle on screen. Before Sai Dharam Tej and Pawan Kalyan in Bro, another nephew-uncle duo, Naga Chaitanya and Venkatesh teamed up for Venky Mama. Incidentally, both the projects are produced by People Media Factory. Pawan Kalyan spoke of his nephew’s casting in Bro at the pre-release event.

Remembering the first time when Sai Dharam Tej expressed his interest to act, Pawan Kalyan mentioned he neither encouraged nor discouraged his nephew. “I didn’t want to judge/put his abilities to test and sent him to an acting school.” He says no one from the family recommended him to any directors and that it was AS Ravikumar Chowdary who chose him for Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham.

Pawan Kalyan appreciated Sai Dharam Tej for growing in the industry with his own talents. He also spoke of the trauma that the family experienced when Tej was critically injured in a road mishap and slipped into a coma. The star particularly appreciated the man (Abdul Farhan) who rescued him on the road and called for an ambulance on time. “We can never forget his efforts.”

The star-politician reportedly trusted God to help him recover soon. Even after Sai’s return from the life-threatening accident, there were concerns about his recovery, diction and agility. “At that time, it was Trivikram who insisted on Sai’s presence in Bro. Trivikram was so impressed by his performance in Republic and wanted to congratulate him but he was battling for life in a hospital.”

Trivikram was moved to tears with Sai Dharam Tej’s performance and was confident he would do justice to Bro. When Sai was still struggling with his speech due to his brain injury on sets, Pawan Kalyan said Samuthirakani took extra care of the actor and treated him like his own brother. After Virupaksha, Sai Dharam Tej would want to continue his victorious march with Bro on July 28.
