Pavi Caretaker: Why is the Dileep-starrer’s OTT release being delayed?

As previously announced, Dileep's most recent Malayalam movie, Pavi Caretaker, will soon be available on the digital space. Manorama Max will offer the comedy drama for streaming; however, while the producers disclosed the precise release date, it was delayed for indeterminate reasons. On April 26, the family entertainer, which was directed by Vineeth Kumar, debuted on big screens throughout the state. Fans of Dileep and those who missed the movie in theatres are anticipating its OTT release with great anticipation.

Reasons for delay in Pavi Caretaker’s OTT release

Fans of Dileep eagerly awaited the release of Pavi Caretaker on a well-known OTT platform, despite the actor's films recently receiving poor reviews in theatres and little online demand. It was anticipated that starting the last week of July and the first week of August, Manorama Max would offer streaming for the comedy drama.

However, the postponement of the Dileep-starring film may have been caused by the simultaneous release of Darshana Rajendran's Paradise. Presumably, the streaming service planned to release one Malayalam film every week and reserve Pavi Caretaker for Onam, which falls in the first or second week of September. The digital distribution of the actor's other recent films, Bandra and Thankamani, is still pending. There has not been any updates on the same.

Mixed response for Pavi Caretaker in theatres

Audiences were not at all impressed by the film after it was screened in theatres. According to OTTplay's review, it is hard to say if the Vineeth Kumar movie offered anything novel to the audience. Due to a tedious and protracted plot, his attempt to present the beloved old-school Dileep has largely failed.

The film centres on Pavi, a residential flat guard and night watchman in Kochi, and his best friend, a labrador named Bro, as they laugh through life's challenges. But an unexpected friendship with his flatmate changes everything, opening his eyes to new ideas about life and love.
