Pathu Thala on OTT: Silambarasan requests film buffs to watch his latest action thriller on Amazon Prime

The makers of Silambarasan-starrer Pathu Thala had announced recently that the film will drop on Amazon Prime on April 27. The gangster drama was released on the OTT platform a few hours ago. Fans of STR and others have been taking to social media to share screenshots from their favourite scenes in the film.

The makers had claimed a few weeks ago that the movie is one of the biggest grossers in the star's career. Obeli N Krishna has helmed the project which has been bankrolled by Studio Green and Pen Studios. 

Amazon Prime has now unveiled a video which has Silambarasan requesting everyone to watch the film. He says, "Hi, this is STR. Watch me in a different get up and in a new style in my upcoming action thriller Pathu Thala. Watch with your family and friends only on Prime Video now."

Fans of the actor are elated to see him sporting a stylish look in the video. He underwent a drastic makeover recently after undergoing training in Thailand. The latest get up is for the role he's playing in STR 48 (tentative title) which has Desingh Periyasamy at the helm. 

Pathu Thala has been garnering appreciation from netizens for Silambarasan's screen presence and AR Rahman's music. Many have started comparing the film with Kannada movie Mufti from which it has adapted the core idea. Gautham Karthik, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Gautham Menon are others who play key roles in the project.

The movie opened to mixed response; some of its aspects received criticism while a few elements were given a thumbs up. The film is streaming on Amazon Prime in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.
