The teaser of Silambarasan TR's upcoming film, Pathu Thala, has become one of the most viewed teasers in the recent past. In the video, Silambarasan is seen as the dreaded gangster AGR, who seems to take care of the underprivileged. Gautham Menon is seen as his antagonist. The film, which is set in the southern part of Tamil Nadu, also stars Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar. In the meantime, the film's director Obeli Krishna dropped a recent update stating that the patchwork of the film has been completed.

Taking to his social media handle, Krishna, dropped a picture with the team and wrote, "Thank you for whole team #pathuthala shooting wrapped successfully @StudioGreen2 @kegvraja @SilambarasanTR_ @Gautham_Karthik @arrahman @priya_Bshankar @Dhananjayang @DoneChannel1 @Iamteejaymelody (sic)."

Though the film is a remake of the Kannada film, Mufti, which starred Shiva Rajkumar, Srimurali and Shanvi Srivastava, the director had revealed during the teaser launch that the team had only retained the outline of the film and that the rest of the plot was completely different from the original. "The film is not a scene-by-scene remake. We have only retained a few scenes and have made a lot of changes to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audience," he announced at the audio launch.

The team is planning a grand audio launch on March 18 and Suriya is likely to be the chief guest for the event. It is to be noted that Suriya is currently part of Suriya42, which is bankrolled by Studio Green, who are also producing Pathu Thala. This is the first time that Gautham Karthik and Silambarasan are coming together for a film and fans are excited about the collaboration.

AR Rahman has scored the music for the film and Silambarasan has said that ' Bhai Sambhavam was loading." The film is slated to hit screens on March 30.

Meanwhile, Gautham Karthik dropped pictures from the set and said that the long journey has finally come to an end. He wrote on his social media handle, " #PathuThala has been a really long journey for me and it's finally wrapped! This wouldn't have been possible without my team who stood by me and supported me through it all See you all on March 30th in theatres (sic)."
