John Abraham leaves Sajid Khan-directed 10 Percent due to Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan?

From YRF's Dhoom to Pathaan, John Abraham has been loved by movie buffs for his antagonist characters. Jim, the ruthless yet handsome role that he played in the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer, has been widely praised for his uncanny charm and mind-blowing action sequences. Apparently, the popularity of his action-driven characters has made John even more interested in doing such roles instead of comedy or others. According to a report on Pinkvilla, this led him to leave Sajid Khan-directed 100 Percent.

According to the news portal, after Pathaan, the Satyameva Jayate actor is not in the mood to do comedy at all and not only 100 Percent but reportedly, John is said to be voluntarily out of the talk for Awara Pagal Deewana 2 as well.

A source unveiled to the online portal that earlier the actor was looking to diversify his lineup with comedy and masala entertainers too, however, the success of Pathaan has changed his perspective on his future projects and now he is looking for better action-thriller genre scripts.

“It’s also work in progress for a spin off to his character of Jim and mostly, the film will go into production in the next two years. Yash Raj Films and John have discussed this idea and believe the character has enough potential to blow big,” added the source.

With a budget of Rs. 225 crores, Pathaan minted Rs. 1,050.3 crores at the box office. The most awaited film of 2023 also has Dimple Kapadia, Ashutosh Rana, Shaji Choudhary and Ekta Kaul in key roles with Salman Khan as Tiger in an extended cameo role. Stream the action thriller movie on Prime Video.
