Can fatefully united lovers exist? On October 13, Lionsgate Play will release the digital version of Past Lives, a love story that makes everything else seem insignificant. This Korean film stars Greta Lee, Teo Yoo, and John Magaro in a moving story of two best friends growing apart after one moves to the United States. Almost a decade later, when Hae Sung returns to find Nora, they are both forced to face destiny, love, and the consequences of their decisions. Everyone who enjoys romantic comedies will find emotional comfort in Celine Song's film.
Past Lives plot overview:
In Past Lives, when Nora's family decides to leave South Korea, she and her best friend Hae Sung are forced to grow apart. Twenty years later, they meet again in New York for a week that will change everything as they each face their own version of fate, love, and the decisions that shape a life.
In a statement, director Celine Song remarked that she made sure that the actors never truly met until that scene where Hae Sung [Teo Yoo] and Arthur [John Magaro] see each other for the first time. It was a small logistical detail, but she had faith in her team, and they made sure that they never crossed paths.
Also, Greta Lee said that her character is so adamant about what she wants. The actor added that this is not a common theme in romantic comedies and novels, where a woman is so preoccupied with her own desires that she funnels life solutions and projects them onto various men.
OTT release date of Past Lives:
Executive producers for the movie are Christine Vachon, Pamela Koffler, David Hinojosa, Hosung Kang, Jerry Kyoungboum Ko, Celine Song, Taylor Shung, and Christine D'Souza Gelb. Past Lives, directed by Celine Song, will debut on Lionsgate Play on October 13, 2023.
