Parthiban’s acclaimed film Oththa Seruppu Size 7 to be remade in Bahasa Indonesian language

Oththa Seruppu Size 7, directed by Parthiban, went on to bag several appreciation from critics and movie lovers. The film, which released in 2019, also bagged various awards for its unique story and presentation. Parthiban himself played the lead in the project and was the only actor in the cast.

The actor-filmmaker won a Special Jury Award at the 67th National Film Awards, apart from Rasul Pookutty bagging another award for Sound Mixing as well. The film was in the news a while ago when Parthiban started directing its Hindi remake with Abhishek Bachchan essaying the lead role.

The movie, which was screened at various national and international film festivals, is now getting remade in Indonesian Bahasa language. According to a release, the project will be bankrolled by Naveen of PT Falcon. Apparently, it is the first Tamil film to be remade in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Parthiban has wrapped up the shooting for the film’s remake in Hindi, which has been bankrolled by none other than Amitabh Bachchan. Ilaiyaraaja has composed music for the project. Parthiban had recently released a short video of the legendary musician engaged in a song recording for the film. Sam CS had composed background score for Oththa Seruppu Size 7, while Santhosh Narayanan composed a song for it.   

Parthiban is currently working on Iravinin Nizhal, which according to him, is his ambitious project. Earlier, he had expressed hopes about the movie getting global attention because of its unique content and presentation. The film is the first-of-its-kind attempt as it has been made in a single shot. 

AR Rahman is the music director of the project which stars newbies in lead roles. Parthiban has penned lyrics for three songs in the film as well, apart from writing screenplay and dialogues.
