Park Seo-jun to star opposite Squid Game 2 actress Won Ji-an in new K-drama Waiting for Gyeongdo? Here's what we know

A good news for all K-drama lovers especially Park Seo-jun and Won Ji-an is that they are reportedly all set to star in a new K-drama, titled Waiting for Gyeongdo. Seo-jun was last seen in Gyeongseong Creature co-starring Han Soo-hee, while Ji-an was recently seen in Squid Game season 2. The possible pairing of the two has already piqued the curiosity of fans.

Park Seo-jun and Won Ji-an in a new K-drama?

On January 3, a media outlet reported that Won Ji-an is in talks to star in the new drama ‘Waiting for Gyeongdo,' opposite rom-com heartthrob Park Seo-jun. Ji-an’s agency Hiin Entertainment issued a statement, “‘Waiting for Gyeongdo’ is a project that Won Ji An is currently reviewing her casting offer for.”

The upcoming JTBC drama will focus on the narrative of Lee Kyung-do and Seo Ji-woo. The pair met during their youth and later fell in love with each other in their twenties. In time, an unexpected reunion takes place at an unexpected moment in their lives. 

Director Lim Hyun-wook and screenwriter Yoo Young-ah are going to collaborate on the rom-com. 

Meanwhile, Lim Hyun-wook has helmed dramas like King the Land, Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency, and Life. On the other hand, Yoo Young-ah has penned Thirty-Nine, Divorce Attorney Shin, and more.  

Waiting for Gyeongdo is set to begin its production as soon as its cast is finalised. After that, the broadcast schedule will be fixed.

Speaking about Seo-jun's K-dramas, he is best known for his roles in Fight For My Way, Itaewon Class, What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, She Was Pretty, Kill Me Heal Me, and more.

On the other hand, Ji-an has been earning praise for her role as Se-mi (Player 380) in Squid Game 2. The plot of Squid Game 2 centers around Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), the previous winner of the Squid Game, who returns to the island three years after the first season to take down the Front Man and end the competition.
