Papam Pasivadu’s title song: A musical peek into Sreerama Chandra’s colourful love life

Papam Pasivadu will always be remembered as an iconic film in Telugu cinema but the title will have a different interpretation with the launch of Sreerama Chandra’s upcoming OTT show for aha. He plays the central role in the coming-of-age show named after the yesteryear classic. Akhilesh Vardhan is bankrolling the series under The Weekend Show while it is directed by Lalith Kumar.

The series is gearing up for an OTT premiere on aha next week. Papam Pasivadu will be out on the platform on September 29 and the teaser of the project was unveiled recently. Ahead of its release, the streamer launched the title song today. “RAMP aadinche RAP song..! Ee Pasivadi confusion ki oka theme song. Get ready to vibe with #PapamPasivadu Premieres Sept 29,” the streamer wrote.

The Jose Jimmy-composed song opens with a ‘no smoking disclaimer’ and the lines, “Eh Hyderabadi walo..mera gaana sunlo..okati kadu rendu kaadu..teen nahi..chaar mama mile the pottiyan..,” where Aditya Rao Gangasani’s energetic rap segments pay a homage to the Deccani dialect. Karthika Vaidyanathan’s laidback rendition does the balancing act with a semi-classical touch. Viplav Nyshadam edited the track.

The show, spanning five episodes, takes viewers through the hilarious and chaotic journey of a heartbroken protagonist Kranthi who’s desperately seeking love. The protagonist is a 25-year-old, whose life takes a chaotic turn when three women fall for him. Amidst the unexpected romantic pursuits, OTT viewers get to experience a ride through his ups and downs of love, laughter, and confusion.

Rashi Singh, Sri Vidya Maharshi, Gayatri Chaganti, Madee, Ashok Kumar essay other crucial roles in the web series. Gokul Bharathi is the cinematographer for the project while Vijay Makkena is the art director. Rohit Devullapally, Meghna Edida are the creative producers and Bhuvan Saluru, Arjun Samudrala are the executive producers.
