Panchayat 4: Jitendra Kumar and Neena Gupta's series to go on floors from THIS date

One of the most beloved series, Panchayat, is gearing up for its much-awaited Season 4. The show returned with its third season earlier this year. Set in the Phulera village, the plot of Panchayat follows an engineering graduate, Abhishek, who is unable to find a job of his caliber. So, he ends up working for a panchayat as Sachiv Ji in the village and deals with several mundane challenges. While fans are awaiting the fourth season, the latest report suggests that the upcoming season is set to go on floors in October. 

Details about Panchayat Season 4

Bollywood Hungama reported that Amazon Prime Video's Panchayat Season 4 will go on floors from October 25, 2024. The report also mentioned it will see the return of all the popular characters of the show - Abhishek Tripathi aka Sachiv ji (Jitendra Kumar), Brij Bhushan Dubey aka Pradhan Pati (Raghubir Yadav), Manju Devi (Neena Gupta), Prahlad (Faisal Malik), Vikas Shukla (Chandan Roy), Rinki (Sanvikaa), Bhushan (Durgesh Kumar), Binod (Ashok Pathak) and Kranti Devi (Sunita Rajwar).

"Pankaj Jha, who played the devious MLA, will also have an important part. Moreover, Swanand Kirkire, who played the MP in one scene in Season 3, is expected to have a crucial role this time," the source added.

The report further added that the makers are aware of the gigantic expectations from the Panchayat series. 

"It’s a rare web show which is suitable for the whole family and hence, gets viewership from viewers of all ages. All seasons until now have been satisfactory and the makers have worked hard on the script of Season 4 to ensure that it’s loved by the fans," the source informed the portal. 

Director Deepak Kumar Mishra on Panchayat Season 4

In May 2024, during the release of Panchayat Season 3, director Deepak Kumar Mishra told PTI that they have started writing season four and for them, there’s no break between two seasons. 

"The third season is over and we have written three to four episodes (of season four) of the show. So far, we have thought about making seasons four and five. For season four, we have a clear idea, and there is a broader idea for season five," he added. 

The filmmaker once also revealed that the 4th season is scheduled to be released in 2026.

Meanwhile, an excerpt from the OTTplay review reads, "Panchayat Season 3 might end up being one of those seasons where the audience feels the show has moved far away from what it promised, but this is a step in the right direction, a future that has some very interesting things waiting for us. Swanand Kirkire is here, after all!"
