Panchayat 2 BTS: Jitendra Kumar opens up about the traits he shares with his character

The makers of the Panchayat delighted fans when they released the second season of the popular show earlier than planned. The series stars Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi, an engineering graduate who finds himself working in the panchayat office of a village called Phulera. Kumar recently opened up about the things he found common with his character.

In a recently released BTS video, the actor talked about the ‘unexpected’ situation his character found himself in the series. Abhishek had gone through some ‘unwanted’ and ‘unexpected’ things in his life, and circumstances prevented him from leaving. The actor said that he could identify with Abhishek’s anger, which Kumar himself has had to go through in life.

The actor also opened up about what fans can expect from the show’s new season, saying that the things people found intriguing in season one can be expected from the new season as well. This included the small stories of the village and its character.

Panchayat follows the story of Abhishek, who begrudgingly takes up a job in the panchayat office of a village named Phulera, after he cannot find a job that is better suited to his engineering qualifications. But his mundane life is made interesting when things in the village’s political scenario get heated.

In addition to Kumar, the series also features Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav,Chandan Roy, Faisal Malik and Sanvikaa in pivotal roles as well. The series was directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra from a script written by Chandan Kumar. Arunabh Kumar has produced the series under the banner of TVF.

Panchayat season 2 is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
