Helmed by Anil Kumbazha, the psycho-horror thriller will have Shwetha Menon playing a strong female lead

Malayali audiences could never have forgotten Basanthi from the 2001 comedy hit Ee Parakkum Thalika. Nithya Das, who perfected the iconic role alongside Dileep, is still a favourite face in the industry. For the same reason, the actress’ comeback has created much buzz among fans.
Nithya is all set to find her way back home in Mollywood after a long sabbatical. She will be taking part in the upcoming psycho horror movie Pallimani, starring Shwetha Menon.
The actress shared a motion poster of the movie in her Instagram feed with a caption that reads, “My new movie #need your blessing #pallimani”. The poster features a scary graphics portrait of a nun, holding a lamp. The background voice reads a scary note as well, which gives a Hollywood film vibe to the whole poster.
Fans started flooding their love and wishes in the comment section as soon as the poster was dropped. Undoubtedly, the whole internet is excited to see Nithya come back to the industry after her last appearance in the film Soorya Kireedam in 2007. The post went viral instantly, as many celebrities also chose to wish her luck in the comment box.
After gaining popularity through the 2001 Dileep-starrer, Nithya went on to appear in several Malayalam movies including Kunjikoonan, Balettan, Kanmashi and Nariman. She shared the screen with prominent actors like Mohanlal, Dileep, and Suresh Gopi, before she tried her luck in Tamil and Telugu industries as well. Nithya could get a hang of the other languages, with some of the vital roles. Later, she took a break from the screens post her marriage.
