Paleri Manikyam streaming on Sun NXT
The thriller, which is available for streaming on Sun NXT and OTTplay Premium, is based on T P Rajeevan's book of the same name. The literary work is purported to be the true account of Kerala's first murder case ever. The film's supporting cast includes Mythili, Shwetha Menon, Gowri Munjal, Suresh Krishna, and Siddique.
It tells an account of a 1950s murder that was never solved because there was insufficient proof and an inadequate probe. However, Sarayu, a crime analyser, works with detective Haridas to investigate this case. They continue to monitor leads and suspects even after 52 years of the incident. They learn gradually that there was an influential landlord involved. Haridas makes every effort to discover that the son of the landlord committed the crime.

The film received accolades for being a crime mystery, which piques viewers' interest and keeps them watching to the very end due to the refined performances. Due to his performance in three roles in this film, Mammootty was awarded his fifth Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor. In addition, Shwetha Menon's critically acclaimed portrayal of Cheeru in this movie bagged her Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress.
Upcoming Malayalam re-releases
In honour of its 25th anniversary, Mammootty's other blockbuster, Valyettan, is apparently getting a second release on Onam 2025. Due to its great repeat value, audiences of all ages watch the film, which was one of the highest grossing Malayalam films of 2000. Shaji Kailas directed this movie.
Thenmavin Kombathu, which stars Mohanlal and Shobana, is slated to hit theatres on January 25, coinciding Republic Day weekend. In addition, Dileep's film Vettam will soon be available in theatres. A specific release date has not yet been given by the creators, though.
