A number of Malayalam masterpieces are set to be re-released in theatres soon, with the most recent being Mammootty's Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha. This mystery drama, directed by Ranjith, will be released on October 4 in theatres, much to the excitement of the Malayalam megastar's fans.
Paleri Manikyam on Sun NXT
The thriller is based on the same-titled book by T P Rajeevan and can be streamed on Sun NXT and OTTplay Premium. The literary work is said to be a real story of the first-ever murder case in Kerala. Sreenivasan, Shwetha Menon, Mythili, Gowri Munjal, Suresh Krishna, and Siddique are among the supporting cast members of the movie.
It describes a murder that occurred in the 1950s but was never solved due to a lack of evidence and a poor investigation. But to look into this case, investigator Haridas collaborates with crime analyst Sarayu. Even 52 years after the incident, they are still keeping an eye on leads and potential suspects. Gradually, they discover that a powerful landlord was involved. Haridas does all in his power to find out that the landlord's son was the one who perpetrated the crime.
The movie won praise for being a crime mystery, which draws in audiences and draws them in until the very end thanks to the outstanding acting. Mammootty won his sixth Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor as a result of his three parts in this movie. Furthermore, Shwetha Menon won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her depiction of Cheeru in this highly praised film.
Other Malayalam releases on October 4
Apart from this mystery thriller, there are a few other films that are releasing on October 4, 2024. Suraj Venjaramoodu and Vinayakan-starrer Thekku Vadakku and Siju Wilson's Pushpaka Vimanam will hit the big screen on the same date. Oru Kattil Oru Muri, starring Poornima Indrajith, Hakkim Shajahan, and Priyamvada in lead roles, also has the same theatrical release date.
