What is Pakalum Paathiravum’s story?

The film revolves around the events that happen after a wildlife photographer stops at a house en route to Mysore to Kochi via Wayanad. The village, where he halts, is already facing a Maoist threat and the stranger’s presence further intimidates those around him. The family, who hosts him for a night, however, discover that the stranger isn’t all he says he is, after they find a gun and gold with him. The series of incidents that happen during the night form the plot of the movie.

In an earlier interview with us, the film’s director Ajai Vasudevan, who had previously helmed ‘mass’ entertainers such as Shylock and Masterpiece, said that initially hesitant about choosing the subject as his next film.

“My hesitation had more to do with how I would approach this script because the content was so strong. You do it as a realistic film or a thriller with elements of an entertainer. So, I had a few discussions with my colleagues and mentors and finally decided to approach it in my style,” said the director.
