Susmita Chatterjee has paired up with Soham Chakraborty for Premendu Bikas Chaki’s upcoming comedy-drama, Paka Dekha. The film which also features a battalion of veteran actors, including Sumanta Mukherjee, Dolon Roy, Kharaj Mukhopadhyay, Labani Sarkar and Dipankar Dey is scheduled to release on September 2. On August 19, the trailer was launched at a gala event.

The trailer shows a PYT Tiyasha (Susmita) – daughter of a middle-class Bengali couple Sumanta and Laboni – who enjoys herself at a party. Evidently, she is a young independent soul who loves partying with her friends. Her father tries to get her hitched with Sunondo (Soham), who appears to be sensible, disciplined, and somewhat puritan. In a collage of a few hilarious shots, the family drama reveals the reality of Sunondo’s household when the would-be bride’s family meets the would-be groom’s family – Kharaj Mukhopadhyay, Labani Sarkar and Dipankar Dey.

Talking about the film, director Premendu Bikash said, “In today’s busy and stressful life, people are forgetting to laugh. This film is an effort to bring that laughter back. I want our audience to come and enjoy the film without any baggage and stress. Laughter has the power to heal many wounds in our life.”

Meanwhile, producer and the lead actor Soham said, “There has already been excitement regarding the trailer. We are awaiting the social media response after the trailer launch. I can assure you that it is a fun film. It has no serious or complex problems. It deals with two diametrically opposite families and two characters, who are poles apart. It is said that opposites attract each other. But how much they will attract each other will be told in the film. People will enjoy it.”

While Padmanabha Dasgupta penned the story and screenplay, Jeet Gannguli composed the music.
