Painkili OTT release date: When, where to watch Sajin Gopu, Anaswara Rajan’s quirky entertainer

Painkili, starring Sajin Gopu and Anaswara Rajan, had garnered much attention when it was first announced last year. The Malayalam film, which was released in theatres on Valentine’s Day, is gearing up for its OTT release on Manorama Max soon. From the OTT release date to plot, here’s everything you need to know about Painkili 

When to watch Painkili on OTT

Painkili will be making its much-anticipated OTT premiere on Manorama Max on April 11, 2025, nearly two months after its theatrical release. The film will be available in Malayalam with English subtitles on the platform. 

Despite a strong cast, Painkili opened to positive to mixed reviews upon its release in theatres. While the performance of the lead cast was praised, viewers were not particularly impressed with the over-the-top treatment. However, the film is expected to get a better reception once it makes its OTT release.

Painkili plot and cast

After his much-loved Ambaan from Fahadh Faasil-starrer Aavesham, Sajin Gopu stars as Suku in Painkili. After believing that a friend’s death was caused due to his actions, Suku gets himself admitted to a mental asylum. Anaswara Rajan, who impressed everyone with the hit film Rekhachithram, plays Shiba, who is looking for every opportunity to elope. The film follows the hilarious consequences when their paths cross.

Jisma Vimal, Roshan Shanavas, Abu Salim and Chandu Salimkumar also join in this fun yet quirky entertainer. Acclaimed filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery is also seen as Thanku in the film, which is directed by Sreejith Babu. The quirky film is written by Jithu Madhavan, who has helmed hits such as Romancham and action-comedy Aavesham. 

Oru Jaathi Jathakam releases on Manorama Max

The latest Malayalam film to release on Manorama Max is Oru Jaathi Jathakam, which stars Vineeth Sreenivasan in the lead role. The film is available for streamin g on Manorama Max from April 1, 2025. The Malayalam comedy entertainer is directed by M Mohanan and penned by Rakesh Mantodi of Godha fame. Oru Jaathi Jathakam also features several actresses, including Nikhila Vimal, Kayadu Lohar, Indu Thampi and Sayonara Philip.
