The third film in the franchise will see the beloved bear travel from London to Peru

Guess who is joining the cast of popular comedy film series Paddington? It’s none other than Oscar-winning actress Olivia Colman! The Lost Daughter star is likely to be playing a key role in Paddington in Peru, the third movie in the Paddington franchise
The British-French media franchise traces the whereabouts of everyone’s favourite Paddington Bear, which was created by author Michael Bond. The first film in the series was released in 2014. Written and directed by Paul King, the live-action animated comedy film starred Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Nicole Kidman and Ben Whishaw. Paddington 2 released in 2017, with actors Hugh Grant and Brendan Gleeson joining the cast. In the meantime, a TV series and a short film were also made on the character.
According to reports, Paddington in Peru will see the bear travel from his London home to his native place in ‘darkest Peru’. Ben Whishaw is likely to continue voicing Paddington Bear, as the Brown family embarks on new adventures. Among the others joining the cast are Antonio Banderas, Rachel Zegler and Emily Mortimer. While specific plot details are yet to be revealed, it’s been reported that Olivia’s character will be seen operating a retirement home for bears in Peru. Remember Paddington’s Aunt Lucy lives in the home for retired bears!
The third sequel will be filmed at various locations in London and Peru. This movie also marks the debut of award-winning music video director Dougal Wilson. Paddington in Peru will be released in the UK, France, Germany, Benelux, Australia/New Zealand and Poland by StudioCanal. Meanwhile, Sony Pictures holds rights for the rest of the world, apart from Russia, China and Japan.
Among her other projects, The Crown actress will be seen in Paul King’s musical fantasy film Wonka and in Wicked Little Letters.
