Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum OTT release date: When, where to watch Fahadh Faasil, Akhil Sathyan’s family entertainer

After a good month-long run in theatres, director Akhil Sathyan’s Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum is all set for its OTT release. The Fahadh Faasil-starrer marked the actor’s return to comedy after a gap for over three years and was well received by the family audience, despite running in theatres along with Tovino Thomas and Asif Ali’s blockbuster 2018.

Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum, which also stars Viji Venkatesh, Anjana Jayaprakash, Althaf Salim, Mukesh, Innocent, Indrans and Vineeth in pivotal roles, marked Fahadh’s first theatrical release this year.

What is Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum about?

The film revolves around the journey of a youngster named Prashanth aka Pachu, who runs an ayurveda franchisee in Mumbai. During his trip back to Mumbai from his hometown in Kerala, Pachu is tasked with accompanying an older lady, Laila. The latter, however, decided to disembark in Goa. How Pachu’s path then crosses that of two other women – Hamsadhwani and Nidhi – and the changes he brings about in their lives form the plot of the movie, which is also scripted, directed and edited by Akhil.

In an earlier interview with us, Akhil said that he was a huge fan of Fahadh’s humour-oriented roles. “The characters that you see in Oru Indian Pranayakatha and Njan Prakashan is how he is in real life,” says Akhil. “I have always felt that whenever people cast him roles, because he is an extremely talented actor, they give him complex, intense roles. But he explores humour roles equally well and not many people have tasked him with such characters.”

The movie, which marks the Malayalam debut for Viji Venkatesh, Dhwani Rajesh and Anjana Jayaprakash, also has a several cameos including that of Shruti Hariharan, Ahaana Krishna and Naslen.
