Pachinko episode 2 has now been released, and it has one of the most heartbreaking chapters of the series. Isak, who is Sun-ja (Kim Min-ha)'s husband, is now dead. He got the farewell we saw coming but refused to accept. However, this appears to also be an opportunity for Kim Min-ha's Sun-ja and Lee Min-ho's Kim Han-su to rekindle their romance. It is to be noted that even if married to someone else, Han-su kept looking out for Sun-ja (even when she refused his help). So, what happened in episode 2, and what to expect from episode 3? Find out...

War and deaths surround episode 2, Isak is no more

With World War II happening, the kids also pretend to be in a war situation while playing. That is when a mailman drops a letter to announce that a father of one of the children has passed away in war.

Soon after, a strange man enters Mozasu's house. He notices it is his brother Baek Isak (Sun-ja's husband). His health has deteriorated, and a bruised Isak cannot stop coughing. Sun-ja tries to save her husband till the very end. Alas, he just has a few hours and passes away in front of their eyes.

In the midst of it, Sun-ja seeks help from Han-su. She strikes a deal - to get a doctor for her husband in exchange for her safety with Han-su. Of course, it was too late, and Sun-ja had to leave even before she gave her husband his last rites.

Sun-ja and Han-su to rekindle their romance?

Now that Sun-ja agreed to move with Han-su to avoid the upcoming bombings on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, they are sure to feel the spark once again. Han-su never stopped loving Sun-ja and she anyway is taking care of Han-su's child. So, they are likely to end up together after all these years.

What else will episode 3 bring?

As always, Pachinko does not only focus on Sun-ja's story, even though she is the lead. Episode 2 saw Baek Solomon (in 1989 Tokyo) meeting with the old woman that he did in season 1, the very one who changed his fate. She spills that a land is built upon graveyards. Solomon convinces her to sell the land to him while plotting to destroy Abe. Episode 3 is likely to see him do exactly that.

The episode is also likely to explore Noa's story. Noa, who is Sun-ja and Han-su's son, has a lot of similarities with Solomon. Thus, their stories could run as parallelly as we saw Solomon and Sun-ja's so far.
