The much-awaited Season 2 of Paatal Lok is just a few days away. The wait for the release of a second season of a series has been excessive, spanning nearly five years. In the upcoming installment, Jaideep Ahlawat will reprise his iconic role as Hathi Ram Chaudhary, leading viewers into deep, dark adventures for which they are unprepared. However, as the second season of the Prime Video series approaches after a long hiatus, let's delve into the past and explore how the first season concluded.

Recapping the series finale of Paatal Lok Season 1

The series finale of Paatal Lok was as intricate and multi-layered as the whole drama. A recap is always helpful, even though the protagonist, Hathi Ram Chaudhary, does all the connecting in a single scene.

Swarg ka Dwaar, the series finale episode, has Inspector Hathi Ram Chaudhary reporting back to Sanjeev Mehra's (Neeraj Kabi) office on his adventures in Chitrakoot. The story begins with a line from the Mahabharat, in which Hathi Ram informs Sanjeev that a dog saved his life. Telling Sanjeev, "The man who loves dogs is a good man," he dispels the illusion that the protagonist was the victim of an assassination plot in the pilot episode of the show.

A once-invincible TV journalist named Sanjeev decides to take a populist tack in the face of declining ratings by revealing that the assassination attempt's perpetrators were, in reality, ISI operatives during a live broadcast. No, that's not correct.

Origins of Hathoda Tyagi

There was a complex plot involving the four men—Hathoda Tyagi (Abhishek Banerjee), Kabir M (Aasif Khan), Tope Singh (Jagjeet Sandhu), and Cheeni (Mairembam Ronaldo Singh). A flashback shows that Tyagi's criminal life began when, in retaliation for the rape of his sisters, he exacted revenge on three males. For safety, his teacher led him to Donullia (Akshay Sharma), a local criminal. The community holds Donullia in high esteem, but they also fear him, and Tyagi, his protégé, is no exception. Even chopping off his own thumb demonstrates his dedication. He now addresses Donullia as Masterji.

His brother-in-law Gwala Gujjar (Rajesh Sharma) is a political aspirant and mobster, but Hathi Ram learns from his research that Donullia has died and that he has kept his death a secret. A doctor examines what appears to be the lifeless body of a guy wearing a cloak, but we never see Donullia. Gwala promptly assasinates the doctor to conceal the news of his death.

Conspiracy against Hathoda Tyagi

Using caste politics as his platform, Gwala intends to challenge Bajpayee (Anup Jalota) in the upcoming elections. The news of Donullia's passing and Gwala's desire to run for office reach Bajpayee. In addition, Bajpayee knows that Gwala has the ability to use Tyagi as a weapon against him. In order to get Tyagi killed in a confrontation, Bajpayee devises a scheme. Having Tyagi falsely accused of a crime is the sole option for accomplishing this.

Hathi Ram asserts that Sanjeev's prominent profile only led to his involvement in the crime by attracting attention. Tyagi himself was the intended victim, not Sanjeev. Just as the DCP prepared to murder Tyagi, a media van unexpectedly intervened.

Tyagi started to second-guess himself as he watched his wife play with a dog while he waited to murder Sanjeev. He attempted to contact Masterji several times but was unsuccessful as he was desperate to speak with him. Tyagi takes his own life after meeting Hathi Ram in court and receiving Masterji's rudraksh, which he interprets as a sign that his "guru" is no longer with him.
