The Malayalam film Paalum Pazhavum, which starred Meera Jasmine in the lead role, has found its home in the OTT space. The film, which was released in theatres in August 2024, is now available for streaming on Saina Play.
Paalum Pazhavum, directed by VK Prakash, started streaming on Saina Play from December 20, 2024. The film is available in Malayalam with English subtitles.
Meera Jasmine and Aswin Jose play the lead characters in the film which has a slew of notable actors in the supporting cast, including Shanthi Krishna, Ashokan, Maniyanpilla Raju and Rachana Narayanankutty.
The film narrates the unlikely romantic bond between a 33-year-old woman and a youngster. The film which is touted to be a comedy entertainer, then follows the unconventional couple as they deal with the complexities of the age gap, societal norms and more.
Meera Jasmine plays the older woman Sumi, while Aswin Jose appears as the 20-something Sunil, an engineering dropout
The film opened to mixed response, and failed to create an impression among the audience and was panned by some critics for its poor filmmaking and lackluster writing. It remains to be seen if Meera Jasmine’s film gains any traction upon its OTT debut.
The film is helmed by VK Prakash, who is best known for Oruthee which marked the comeback of Navya Nair to Malayalam cinema after a hiatus. Prior to Paalum Pazhavum, Meera Jasmine starred in Queen Elizabeth along with Narain. The film, directed by M Padmakumar, is now available on Zee5. You can also watch it on OTTplay Premium right now.
The noted actress, who won a National Award for Paadam Onnu: Oru Vilapam in 2004, has not tasted success in her recent outings.
