Director Pa Ranjith's highly-anticipated film Thangalaan is on its way to completion, with the director recently sharing that 80% of the shooting has been wrapped up. The movie was extensively shot in KGF , where the cast and crew worked tirelessly for 55 days. While 25 days of shooting are yet to be completed, Ranjith remains optimistic that the film will be fully wrapped up on schedule and ready for release soon.
"We took it as a challenge and worked day and night. It's not easy to shoot a film of this scale," Ranjith said.

The film is said to be high on the VFX, and the team is working hard to ensure that the post-production is completed on time. If everything goes according to plan, the movie will be ready for release later this year.
Ranjith also clarified that Thangalaan won't be a two-part movie, contrary to earlier rumours. He also gave a quick update on his movie with Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan. "I'm still writing the script. I will only know the next steps after I finish Thangalaan. It will take a while," he said.
Producer KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green earlier was quite upbeat about Thangalaan . "Thangalaan is a world cinema. We want to dub it into a maximum number of languages. We have tied up with Netflix. We wanted to give it a wider reach," he said earlier.
The film has already captured the imagination of the audience thanks to Vikram's unique look. Thangalaan is a period drama set in colonial India, and Vikram plays the role of a tribal man. Ranjith believes that Thangalaan will be an "entertaining movie that people will enjoy."
Besides Vikram, Thangalaan also stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan and Harikrishnan.
