Outer Range teaser: Josh Brolin as a rancher fights for his land and family in Amazon Prime Video series

Outer Range, starring Oscar candidate Josh Brolin, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 15, 2022, and the teaser for the Western thriller has been released. The series' first season will consist of eight episodes, with two episodes released every week on the streaming platform beginning Friday, April 15.

The nearly two-minute trailer gives a taste of the plot, which revolves around Royal Abbott (Josh Brolin), a rancher struggling for his land and family who stumbles into an unfathomable mystery on the outskirts of Wyoming's wilderness.

Outer Range addresses how humans deal with the unknown in a gripping Western family saga with undertones of sarcastic humour and otherworldly intrigue.

The Abbotts are dealing with the disappearance of their daughter-in-law Rebecca at the start of the series. When the Tillersons, the opulent owners of the neighboring, profit-driven ranch, make a bid for their land, they are pushed even closer to the edge.

An untimely death in the village sets off a chain of tense events, and the Abbotts' west pasture's seemingly small-town, soil-bound problems come to a head with the arrival of a mysterious black emptiness.

As Royal strives to defend his family, shocking revelations emerge. Through his eyes, we learn how time holds secrets from the past and foreshadows terrifying mysteries.
