Kunchacko Boban and Arvind Swami’s Ottu promises to be a blast. The makers of the film unveiled the first trailer of the Onam release on Friday, hinting at an intriguing storyline as well as revealing its exciting cast that also features Jackie Shroff and Eesha Rabba in pivotal characters.

The movie, which had completed its shoot after the second lockdown, is touted to be an action thriller and the biggest film in Kunchacko’s 25-year-old career. Directed by Theevandi filmmaker Fellini TP, the movie also marks Arvind Swami and Jackie Shroff’s comeback to the Malayalam film industry.

The trailer of the film suggested that Arvind Swami will be playing a gangster, who apparently suffers a memory loss. Kunchacko’s character, meanwhile, seems to be working with law enforcers and befriends that actor to take him from one point to another during a road trip. The video also shows flashes of Arvind Swami’s character in his element doing some stylish action sequences and concludes with a shot of Jackie Shroff.

Touted to be the most expensive film produced by August Cinemas, which had previously backed Mammootty’s The Great Father and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Urumi, Ottu will also release in Tamil as Rendagam. The film will also mark Kunchacko’s Tamil debut.

In an earlier interview with us, the Nna Thaan Case Kodu actor had said that it’s the most expensive film he has been part of. While it’s an action thriller, it has been packaged as an entertainer and having Arvind Swami and Jackie Shroff as part of its cast increases its grandeur and also its reach, the actor told OTTplay.

The movie, which also has Amalda Liz, Aadukalam Naren, Aneesh Gopal and Jins Bhaskar in pivotal roles, is set to hit theatres worldwide on September 2 and is expected to clash with Basil Joseph’s Paaltu Jaanwar.
