PremiumOTTplay Changemakers Awards 2023: Tovino Thomas bags the Inspiring Performer of the Year award
The award was accepted on behalf of the actor by Basil Joseph.

Tovino Thomas has added yet another feather to his cap yet again, being declared the most Inspiring Performer of the Year (Male) at this year’s OTTplay Changemakers Awards, held at the JW Marriott in Mumbai, on Sunday. As Tovino was unable to make the event, the award was accepted on his behalf by Basil Joseph.
Basil had directed Tovino in the Netflix superhero film, Minnal Murali, which went on to become one of the most popular Malayalam releases on the streaming platform. The duo had also shared the screen in Vineeth Kumar’s Dear Friend as well.
Last year saw Tovino essay a plethora of characters in releases like Vaashi, Naradan, Thallumaala and Dear Friend. The actor’s upcoming releases include Aashiq Abu’s Neelavelicham, Jude Anthany Joseph’s 2018 and Jithin Laal’s Ajayante Randam Moshanam. The actor’s film Vazhakk, directed by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, had its premiere at last year’s International Film Festival of Kerala.
Basil had also won it big at the OTTplay Changemakers Awards, being awarded the Inspiring Filmmaker of the Year title. The actor-director will also share the screen with Tovino in the upcoming period drama Ajayante Randam Moshanam.
