OTTplay Changemakers Awards 2023: Regina Cassandra bags the Disruptive Star of the Year award

Regina Cassandra is on a roll of late, treating viewers to some power packed performances, spanning across languages, in both shows and films. The actress took home the award for Disruptive Star of the Year (Female), presented by Rakesh Bapat. The actress was honoured for her incredible performances in the web shows such as Rocket Boys, Farzi, Anya’s Tutorial and Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke.

At the red carpet for the event, Regina stated how happy she was to be attending her first ever OTTplay awards ceremony “I don't know what to expect and I hope the best ones win. It's a very interesting space to be in”, she said.

Regina was last seen in the Telugu film Saakini Daakini, which saw her share the screen with Nivetha Thomas. The film, directed by Sudheer Varma, is available for streaming on Netflix. The actress will next be seen sharing the screen with Arun Vijay and Stefy Patel in the Tamil film, Borrder, directed by Arivazhagan, was set to release in February, but was postponed. The film, initially supposed to be released in 2021, had witnessed a number of postponements.

The actress will also be seen in the upcoming second season of Rocket Boys, which will stream on SonyLIV soon.

OTTplay Changemakers Awards 2023 took place at the JW Marriott in Juhu, Mumbai on March 26, and was live streamed on OTTplay’s official Youtube channel. The event was hosted by Rithvik Dhanjani.
