OTTplay Changemakers Awards 2023: Celebrating those who have changed the game in the entertainment industry

It was an evening of all things glitz and glamour as the stars descended on the OTTplay purple carpet on March 26 at the exquisite JW Marriott in Juhu, Mumbai, for the OTTplay Changemakers Awards 2023.

Powered by Real Fruit Juices & Beverages, the awards recognise prominent individuals and organisations in the entertainment industry that strive to make a positive impact on the world.

Thirty-one influential, creative, and innovative figures across 30 categories in the entertainment industry were recognised at the first OTTplay Changemakers Awards, which was attended by prominent actors and social media figures from across the country.

The awards ceremony not only celebrated the artistic excellence of actors, but also honoured trendsetters from regional cinema, business leaders, content creators, and tech enablers.

The inaugural edition of the awards ceremony was a grand success, as it was a celebration of talent sans any language or geographical barriers.

Speaking about the direct connection between OTTplay and the celebrities honoured at the awards ceremony, Avinash Mudaliar, Co-Founder and CEO, OTTplay, said, "The primary objective of OTTplay and the OTT ecosystem as a whole is to ensure that language is not a barrier. Cinema has no language; it’s sans borders, language and a lot of other barriers. What OTTplay is attempting to do is bring content from all platforms, all languages, and all regions and recommend to the user content which can be consumed in any language as long as you have a taste for cinema, shows, or anything creative." 

The award recipients represented a diverse range of talent, from actors and influencers to writers and directors. The night’s winners were:

3) Rising Star of the Year (Female) - Sapthami Gowda

4) Rising Star of the Year (Male) - Babil Khan and Pradeep Renganathan

5) Composer in Spotlight - Achint Thakkar

6) Fashionista of the Year - Uorfi Javed

7) Breaking Barriers in Cinema - Swastika Mukerji

8) Innovation in New Media - Yashraj Mukhate

9) Pathbreaking Performer of the Year - Rajkummar Rao

10) Creator of the Year - Prajakta Koli

11) Most Loved Star on Social Media - Rohit Saraf

12) Compassionate Changemaker of the Year - Rupali Ganguly

13) OTTplay Reader’s Choice OTT Debut of the Year - Sandhya Shetty

14) Most Promising Star of the Year (Male) - Abhilash Thapliyal

15) Most Promising Star of the Year (Female) - Sayani Gupta

16) Entertainer of the Decade - Sunny Leone

17) Comedian in Spotlight - Munawar Faruqui

18) Gamechanger of the Year - Rishab Shetty
